About Us
Dedicated to popularizing Jesus-centered discipleship in the Ghanaian context.
SimplyChrist is a group of people who are dedicated to popularizing Jesus-centered discipleship in the Ghanaian context.
Ghanaian Christianity over the years has been about everything else than about following in the way of Jesus Christ. We excel at worshiping God, but it is obvious to the world that our lives look very little like Jesus. That’s primarily because dedicating our teaching, resources and lives towards equipping Christians to follow the challenging examples of Jesus has never been a priority of majority of Ghanaian Christianity.
SimplyChrist intends to empower young Ghanaians with the courage to ask the questions they have been pondering about without fear of judgement. Many of us have questions regarding three main areas.
Theology – Who is the Christian God and why does the bible reveal him the way it does?
History – Where do the practices in our churches come from and how faithfully do they represent that expected of the bride of Christ?
Culture – What makes Ghanaian Christianity the way it is and in what ways has it been polluted by Ghanaian culture?
SimplyChrist uses all available Theological, Historical and Cultural analysis to help the Ghanaian Christian appreciate the simple yet profound personality, message and kingdom of Jesus Christ.
Christianity from its inception has both been a consumer of technology, as well as an innovator of it. For example the clock was invented by Benedictine monks who needed it to help them organize their hourly prayers. Today, social media is the platform of choice to reach discerning people, and we will be deploying short videos and podcast conversations through this medium. Ultimately, we hope to meet with people face to face someday, and continue these conversations in the flesh.
We expect 3 results from our efforts.
Anybody and everybody who wants a clearer understanding of the Jesus and the God He reveals through the Bible. But primarily we want those who find that they are not getting good answers to their questions when they ask their Christian friends.
We know many won’t agree with our methods, or our conclusions. And that’s fine with us. The fact that you have paused to think about our conclusions is all we want. We are sure of one thing though – Jesus lived and died for everyone equally, even those who disagree with us. And that should give us all cause for comfort.
