Our Convictions
What we Believe
As an ecumenical movement of young Christians we are committed to the founding creeds of Christian orthodoxy – the Apostles and Nicene creeds. This allows us to have what is sometimes referred to as a generous orthodoxy – convictions that enable people committed to historic Christianity to work across their differences for a united goal – to make Jesus known in clarity and conviction. If you share these convictions with us, you are welcome.
Our meetings typically begin with a recital of the Apostles creed and ends with The Lord’s Prayer.
Apostles Creed | The Lord’s Prayer |
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. Amen. |
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen |
